On Tuesday, June 21st our parish will celebrate the Summer Solstice, the point at
which the sun is at its highest in the northern hemisphere and is the longest day of the year, by
having a Mass at North Ave. Beach at 5:00 am. What a great beginning to summer!
Tuesday, June 21 · 5:00am – 6:00am
North Avenue Beach (Chicago)
All are welcome to attend!
Sponsored by the Men’s Spirituality Group of St. Teresa of Avila Parish
Following are the parking options for the sunrise mass:
- There is a parking lot at North Avenue Beach that is open 24 hours. You take a ticket from a machine when entering the lot. When leaving, if there is no attendant, there is an automated machine where you can pay. You then insert the paid ticket into the machine at the exit and the gate will open.
- There is metered parking along Clark street and North Avenue west of North Avenue Beach (about 1/4 to 1/2 mile away).
- There is free parking along the “park” road which goes past the zoo. This all depends on availability (about 1/4 to 1/2 mile away).
- Parking to the south of North Avenue in that neighborhood (this is where the Cardinal’s house is) requires permit #74.
