Working in harmony with other religious faiths to fight the violence on city streets. Building a house for a low-income family. Standing up for the rights of the voiceless. Advocating against the death penalty in Illinois. Visiting with an illegal immigrant hours before being deported.
We are blessed to have such a vibrant community at St. Teresa of Avila. In the midst of this Lenten season of reflection and sacrifice, let us pray upon how we as a parish can unite to best use our time and talents to promote peace and engage in social justice throughout the year. We are called to take action to make a difference, and the time for us to embark upon this journey is now. Let us start by identifying the issues to collectively focus our attention on.
The Peace and Social Justice Ministry kindly requests 5 minutes of your time to complete the following survey:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/stteresapsj
Hardcopies of this survey can be picked up at the weekend masses or from the parish office. If filling out the hardcopy, please complete and return to boxes in the back of the church labeled Peace & Social Justice Survey by March 27. This survey is critical in helping us shape our activities to serve the parish and community. It will only be through your input that we will be able to move forward in traveling together down this road to which each of us is being led.
Thank you in advance for taking the survey and for your commitment to bringing about peace and social justice in our community, in our city, in our state, in our nation, in our world. Thank you for answering God’s call.
Wishing you much peace.
